Monika Niwelinska was born in 1976 is a lecturer in the Faculty of Graphic Arts(the Department of Drawing and Painting) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland – Department of Printmaking (diploma with honors, 2004) and the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada – Department of Art and Design(Master of Fine Arts, 2007). Scholarship from Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna and the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada – a scholarship and assistant training in The Department of Art and Design. Polish scholarships: Young Poland Scholarship, Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Scholarship of the City of Krakow. Has contributed to numerous individual and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Works in drawing, installation, painting, printmaking and photography.
The artist had an individual exhibition in Jan Fejkiel Gallery. He also took part in collective shows organised by the gallery, i.a.: Beyond the Passe-Partout, New Spaces in Print, JFG (2006, Cracow); Shaping the Gallery, JFG (2012, Cracow); Visible/ Invisible, Turchin Center for Visual Arts, (2012/13 Boone NC, USA).
